Tackle Football

season outlook

what does a typical season look like for our tackle players?

starting in mid to late July we will hold 4 mini camps. these mini camps are for anyone who wants to attend registered or not.

Practices will begin in early August starting with one week of heat acclimation where players will get used to wearing equipment before full contact is allowed and run through the entire season ending in late October or early November.

Typically the Mighty Mites (2-3rd grade) will practice 2 nights a week, usually Tuesday and Thursday for 2 hours each night. Times and days are at the discretion of the coaching staff.

Mites(3rd-4th grade) will  practice 2-3 nights per week, Tuesday,  Wednesday and Thursday for 2 hours each night. Times and days are at the discretion of the coaching staff.

Midgets (6th-7th) grade will practice mostly 3 nights per week. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for 2 hours each night. Times and days are at the discretion of the coaching staff.

Most years our one and only scrimmage called the Berks Brawl located at one of the Wilson schools will take place in the middle of August. The Berks Brawl is a great way for teams to get acclimated to live plays verse other teams.

Games will start in late August and run through October. The League we play in BICYFL currently has 11 teams which gives us an 8 game schedule with one bye week built in for our varsity teams. JV schedules will fluctuate from year to year depending on registration numbers across all organizations.

Playoffs for Varsity only would be held after the season and run into early November.
